The Birdsinger

The Great Bear Folk Theatre

LOCATION: Rexburg, Idaho

SYNOPSIS: “The Birdsinger” tells the story of a young woman who is lost, after the death of her parents. Searching for solace and healing, she feels compelled to leave her village and travel into the wild. There, she is visited by different spirit animals who teach her how to find her true nature (her wildness) and the healing power found in nature. She also becomes aware of an ominous presence, that plays upon her mind and uses her sorrow to tempt her to abandon all she has learned and return to her village to take what is hers.

Will she listen to the spirit watchers and continue on her chosen path, or to the mysterious presence that tests every instinct inside her?

This theatre piece, written in verse uses music, masks and puppets to tell a magical story in a magical way.
